Kalon Digor means “enjoy your food” in Celtic.
My name is Luc Jorieux, I am a French Kiwi (been in NZ for 25 years), passionate about "terroir" food. In short, the food that my grandparents had. It was all about natural ingredients, flavour, time and know-how.
Our journey started in 2017 at the French festival in Auckland when we launched our ultimate French pastry: the Kouign Amann (Queen - Ah - Mon). The success was instant. The Kouign Amann is a pastry from Brittany made of bread dough, sugar and butter. It is moist and layered inside and crispy and caramelised on the outside.
Our range has 5 main flavours (Original, Lemon, Cinnamon, Dark chocolate, Vanilla) and comes in 80grs and 22grs size (Kouign Amann Bites). We supply our Kouign Amann baked frozen. Our Kouign Amann were finalists of the NZ Artisan Awards in 2018 and 2020.
Kalon Digor range of frozen desserts is made of Dark and Milk Chocolate mousses, Duo fruit mousse (Strawberry and Lemon), Tiramisu and Tiramisu Strawberry, Lemon Curd Cheesecake and Salted Caramel Cheesecake. All our desserts are made from scratch from traditional recipes. They are available in branded boxes for the retail industry and in bulk for the hospitality sector.
Our chocolate mousses and tiramisu were finalist of the NZ Artisan Awards in 2021.
