Part of the Black Origin family, Blackstone Butchery produces many styles of cured and fermented smallgoods using premium ingredients. Working closely with our partners at Black Origin Wagyu and Whitehart Kurobata gives us unrivalled access to some of New Zealand’s prestige meat products. The company has a combined history of 85 plus years of smallgoods experience. Head Smallgoodsman Brian Nieuwenhuize, one of New Zealand’s well-known smallgoods artisans, began his award-winning career in 1972, and he is joined by Head Butcher Lindsay Harmon who started his apprenticeship with Verkerks in 1982. Authenticity is at the heart of what we do, creating products in the styles of destinations all over the world, including but not limited to Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Hungary, Portugal, Brazil, and even the USA. We keep to original flavours wherever possible to be as true to the tastes of the original products, while also creating in-house custom products for many of our clients.
